Our Approach
Kids aren’t small adults. Their brains + bodies benefit from a style of learning and moving that’s right-sized just for them.
The Why
Learning is hard work!
Did you know, a child’s brain is 80% developed by the age of 3 and 90% by the age of 5? What’s even more interesting to know is that while human brains are naturally wired to speak, they are not wired to read and write. The good news is that just 10 minutes a day of literacy work can make a huge impact on kids’ reading and writing skills…and they don’t need to be sitting still to do it! Our unique, play-based approach creates strong learners - mind, body + spirit.
our approach
Movement is an important part of a multi sensory approach to reading. Children benefit greatly when they can develop language and reading skills through listening, speaking, reading along with tactile and kinesthetic experiences.
Each of the 26 cards in our deck corresponds to a letter in the English alphabet. With a colorful, playful design on the front side children are introduced to the letter (letter recognition) and a visual of a word that starts with that letter (sound identification). On the reverse side they will find a fun yoga-inspired physical pose or activity.
Our website has a library of video + text resources to support caregivers and teachers as they collaborate with their little yogis. Once you’ve purchased your deck, visit this page of our site to receive access to creative, play based, kid approved activities!
