Alligator Compare

Create two piles of pom-poms—one with more and one with fewer. Have your child get into Alligator Pose facing the pile that has more, mimicking how the alligator "eats" the larger pile. This playful approach introduces the idea of comparison signs in math, where the "greater than" (>) sign points toward the larger group and the "less than" (<) sign points toward the smaller one.

This activity is a fun and physical way to help children understand basic math concepts while staying engaged!

Yoga
Alligator Pose

Have your child lie on their belly and extend their arms forward, one on top of the other. Ask them to lift one arm and “open the alligator’s mouth” by raising it up. Encourage them to lift their chest slightly as they do this, engaging their back muscles. Afterward, have them switch the position of their arms and repeat the motion on the other side.

For added fun, while your child is in the alligator pose, “feed” the alligator with bean bags or stuffed animals!
