Lines and curves are the building blocks of letters! Before children start writing letters, help them develop their writing muscles by tracing dotted or solid lines and curves with a crayon or marker. Alternatively, they can cut out different patterns. This practice supports fine motor skills and prepares them for letter writing.

Cobra Pose & Snake Soccer
Cobra Pose
Have your child lay on their belly with their hands placed under their shoulders. Guide them to inhale and press into their hands to lift their chest up, then exhale with a snake sound “ssssss” as they lower back down. Encourage them to pretend they are slithering in the grass. Repeat the pose two more times, this time lifting their hands and elbows off the ground using their back muscles to lift their chest higher.
Snake Soccer
For a fun twist, grab a partner (or more) and a ball. Have everyone lie on their bellies, keeping their hands and elbows off the ground. Roll the ball back and forth to each other, making sure not to hold their breath. This game helps strengthen their back muscles and coordination while having fun!
