Try the inchworm activity with 4-5 letter cards that correspond to the first letter of the animals in the basket. Place the cards letter side up, and as your child picks up an animal, have them match it with the card that shows the correct first letter. This adds a fun literacy component while reinforcing letter recognition!

Inchworm Pose & Plank Practice
Have your child inhale and raise their arms to the sky. Guide them to bend forward to touch their toes, then slowly walk their hands away from their feet, moving into plank pose (the top of a pushup). Next, have them walk their hands back toward their feet into a standing forward bend and rise up again. Repeat this movement a few times, mimicking the movement of an inchworm.
Move Like an Inchworm
Place an empty basket on the ground nearby and have your child come into downward dog. Then, guide them to move into plank pose, pick up a stuffed animal, and place it into the basket. Repeat this until all the stuffed animals or objects are in the basket, keeping them active and engaged.
