Literacy & Learning

Using Play-Doh, roll out long pieces together to form the letter "C". You can also help your child create the letters for "Moo" and "Meow." Once they've practiced these, encourage them to build the letters in their own name

Yoga
cat pose & cow Pose

Cat Pose
Guide your child to start on their hands and knees in tabletop position. Encourage them to press into their hands, drop their head, and look at their belly while arching their spine. As they exhale, invite them to say "Meow!".

Cow Pose
From the same tabletop position, have your child lower their belly as if it’s really heavy and look up toward the sky. Say "Moo!" as they hold the pose. Help your child move back and forth between Cat and Cow poses, reminding them to breathe (with or without animal sounds) between the poses.

Ask your child
How many stuffed animals can you stack on your back while in cow pose? Can you crawl around the room with the animals on your back?
