Exploring Wordless Books
Flora and the Flamingo is a wordless picture book that can help your child develop important literacy skills, critical thinking, and storytelling abilities. Encourage your child to take the lead as you "read" this type of book together, allowing them to observe and describe the pictures, and tell their own version of the story. This fosters creativity and language development!
Yoga
Flamingo Pose
Have your child stand on one leg with the other leg bent backward and the foot lifted off the ground. Encourage them to switch feet after holding the pose. If they feel wobbly, suggest they put their toe down to reset before trying again. Their hands can be placed in prayer pose, on their hips, or relaxed at their sides.
"Would You Rather" Yoga Version
Make yoga playful by asking your child simple "would you rather" questions. Based on their answer, assign them a pose—option 1 might be a flamingo pose, and option 2 could be frog jumps. This keeps yoga fun and interactive!
